Attaching the name of Jesus to greed does not make such desires godly; rather it labels evil ambition as divinely right. There are several other examples in Scripture, but it is quite clear that the Christian must suffer because, just as His Lord, this world is hostile to the very substance of the Gospel truth which identifies man as a sinner and rebel in need of divine mercy to escape the wrath to come.
