The purpose of this opening? An immigration reform rally. Just so you get this (I know, it took me a moment to swallow it, too), it means, America, the country for which we pay to provide for its protection, its national treasures, its public buildings, its public officers, and a multitude of other things, is not available to Americans. Instead it is available to those who wish to give it to people from other nations...or people who actually are from other nations. They get to have a rally on OUR National Mall.
