The question of Why even call him Dracula? in NBCs - TopicsExpress

The question of Why even call him Dracula? in NBCs Dracula. Okay, imagine this plot... A vampire named Robert shows up in town to take revenge on the secret Society the Illuminati, who trapped him for a hundred years. And five hundred years earlier Robert was made into a vampire against his will by them after they burned his wife at the stake. Robert believes a girl named Julia is the reincarnation of his lost love. Julias best friend Amy is secretly in love with her. Julia is engaged to marry a man named Timothy. And Robert has a loyal assistant named Gregg and has teamed up with a Dr. Price to help find a cure for his vampirism. Roberts powers include the new typicals of speed, agility, strength but not so much the heightened senses as he needs a torch to see in the dark. And though hes five-hundred-years-old he does not retain a fifteenth century sense of honor or loyalty. And hes very easily made to cry and does nothing assertive against that which makes him cry. He cannot shapeshift, nor read human thoughts and garlic is a non-issue for him. He can also drink ordinary beverages. Does that even remotely sound like Dracula? There are some 240 film adaptations of Dracula, not including plays, TV, comic books and novels. None of them have deviated so far that when I alter the names it looks like a completely original concept without a trace of Dracula.
