The question that I keep getting is how could God let this happen? God created the universe and He created man. God gave man a free will to choose and often times man’s choices are not moral. There is wickedness in the heart of man. What happened Thursday evening is a result of wickedness that man is capable of. These aren’t just tragedies that happen on the news but evil is present even in our own community. God does not promise that my physical body will always be protected but God will never allow anyone to harm my eternal soul, that is His, which He paid for by blood of Jesus Christ. Romans 10:9 “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Lord means Master. If you put your faith (trust) in Jesus Christ as your Master and believe in your heart that He has been raised from the dead then you will be saved. Not that your physical body will never die but that your eternal soul will always be His. I think that is the greater question “How could God let THIS happen?” How could He allow us sinners to be saved? The answer is because He loves us. Those who go to heaven do not go because they are so good, but because my God showed Grace and Mercy on their souls. The world is watching our small community let them hear about the glory of our God. In Matthew 14 Peter walks on water in the midst of a storm. Sometimes the greatest miracles aren’t in the calm of the day but in the midst of the storm. So let’s do something amazing today. Instead of gripping about our petty problems let’s love each other and tell the world what a Mighty God we serve.
