The raising of the terror alert from medium to high against police is a testament that we have criminal malcontents using every thread of democracy to actually restrict entire communities because of the extremist bent to subvert western ideas and freedoms. We spend $2 million a day on security and it might be wise for authorities to concentrate more on known felons and criminal hotheads than worry about metadata and other less specific threats. We require a zero tolerance to violence and criminal behaviour and ought not to be exercising it on the basis of compassion or some other misguided political correctness .... Preserving our way of life requires vigilance – not vandalism.
