The reason I view films like The Breakfast Club and shows like Friends as classics is for the simple fact that they provoke thought on the human experience. For Christians, the lesson is: Weve been saved and we are on our way to Heaven through Christ, but we still share the HUMAN EXPERIENCE while we are here. God doesnt transform us into perfection until the the day we die. We still need to eat, drink, wear clothes, experience culture, pay our bills, take care of our families, handle the pressures and experience the joys of life. We, like our fellow humans who dont know Christ, are faced with the problems, injustices, and sadness that this world brings. Our fears, our insecurities...Life is full of pain and trouble brought on by our imperfections. We share this experience with all people, everywhere. The Human Experience. Dreams, goals, aspirations, frustrations, joys, failures, successes. Yes, our Christianity should change our view/handling of these things, but it doesnt change the fact that we experience those things. How we deal with them, letting the Holy Spirit live through us, allowing us to live with real love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance. This is how Christians are supposed to be different. This is how those without will see what we have within. As I watched the Breakfast Club last night, I asked myself: What would Jesus do? In a movie full of human experience-how would those characters had been different if Christ were living through them as these are some of the issues all humans face in one way or another. #BreakfastClub #Christ
