The reason that some on the far right are willing to let the Government shut down (something they will most likely get the political blame for) rather than just waiting for the next elections to undo the Affordable Health Care Act is simple: After all the fear mongering and dramatic doomsday prophecies, Americans are finally about to see how it ACTUALLY works, and that is really bad news for those politicians whose political fortunes have been based on trashing it with outrageous, bogus claims. These folks have been whipping up a frenzy about the boogeyman in the closet for years, the last thing they want is for the door to be opened to see it only contains clothing. If they REALLY thought it was going to be such a disaster, they would let it happen (which is most likely will anyway), and reap the rewards at the next election. This is in fact what more level headed republicans are advocating: letting democracy work.
