The reasons for demanding federalism are weak (2-2): As I said in my previous article that in my discussions and conversions with Equatoria guys who support the idea of bringing federal system in the republic of South Sudan. They justified their demand by six reasons, and they are: lack of development in juba, marginalization of Equatorians in the power and wealth sharing’s, land grabbing in Juba, random killings in juba, spread of corruption and cruel behaviors by the Dinka and Nuer elements towards their counterpart from the Equatoria region. We talked about three reasons and today we want to discuss and talked about the remaining three reasons, so that we are aware of what we are going to do if the idea succeeded. Also we need each and everybody to be aware of why our brothers and sisters are eager to bring the federal system in two year old country .Is there any strong justification behind the demand or demand for the sake of demand. Anyway let’s discuss what they said one by one in order to get full understanding about it. First: Random killing in Juba: first of all I am against any killing of innocent people whether in capital city Juba or somewhere else in our country. But something which surprised me is that , these people are talking as if the Government is composed only from other regions .Because if we want to blame the Government for failing to provide the security in Juba we can put the blame on them all . And if the Government is unable to do its duties, then we as the citizens of this nation can demand this Government to step down. But it is unrealistic instead of putting pressure on the Government you demanded for dividing your own people. Another crucial issue is that, the perpetrators who used to kill the innocent people in Juba are not just from Bahr el Ghazal, Upper Nile regions, but there are elements from Equatoria region. So this reason according to me is not convincible at all, in regard to demanding the federal system in our country. Secondly: the issue of corruption in the Government: As everybody is aware of my position against corruption, but this is not enough reason for dividing our people on regional bases. Because everybody is aware that the Government is corrupted including Equatoria sons and daughters who are working in the Government. And the former finance minister Kosti manibi who was accused of involving in the corruption case is an example. So what I am trying to say is that , corruption has no certain region nor tribe , it is phenomena that need to be addressed seriously through setting a strong mechanisms for combating it in the whole republic of South Sudan . Thirdly: Cruel behaviors by Dinka and Nuer elements towards their counterpart from Equatoria region: My personal view is that any ruthless behavior is not acceptable at all. And if it happens that there are some elements from Dinka and Nuer tribes who treat their siblings from Equatoria very bad treatment that is not acceptable. But that behaviors doesn’t mean the Dinkas and Nuers have sat down and made agreement to treat the Equatorians like that. So it is personal behaviors we cannot generalize the whole tribe about it at all. So these reasons that I have just mentioned above are not enough reasons for fragmenting our beloved country under the seal of federalism. Best regard
