The recent cold weather (a week of it!!) really dropped the flows - TopicsExpress

The recent cold weather (a week of it!!) really dropped the flows and improved water clarity on all of the free stone rivers and streams in NW Wyoming and Yellowstone. Hatches in the Park are very good on the Firehole, Madison and the Gibbon. The trout are keying on PMDs, caddis, and soon, stoneflies! In the Cody area, the North and South Forks of the Shoshone and the Clarks Fork of the Yellowstone fished well while the cool weather prevailed. We even had trout taking big (size 6) dry hopper/stonefly imitations. Bets are on that runoff will be about over around July 6 or so. Flows will probably remain high longer than most years, thanks to an abundant snowpack. Flows are still big, but the good news is this: We will see rivers in fine shape into the fall months. If you havent reserved a guide from North Fork Angers yet, do so NOW. Walk/Wade and Float Trips slots are filling quickly. Call 307-527-7274 and let us nail down some dates for you before it is too late!! This is going to be the year for big fish, screaming fly reels and bent rods. Awesome. North Fork Anglers looks forward to guiding you this year.
