The remaining frame with honey on the foundation weighs about 4 #. - TopicsExpress

The remaining frame with honey on the foundation weighs about 4 #. Ill store these frames in the freezer until I get all the hives inspected and adjusted for late summer/fall prep. But a person could extract this if they wanted the honey. The photo showing the dark honey was a frame- I used to bait the bees up into the top supers (I only use deeps) It looks like it had a round or two of brood in it before they filled it with honey. This will also be distributed to a colony in need of fall weight. The nice thing about these frames is, once the bees eat the honey, no matter how they use the comb in the center, the outside can be cut out and it will always be fresh virgin comb. If I had hacked out the drone comb on this frame, the outsides would have been harvestable for cut comb. But I am in it for the queen rearing and drones are necessary. They get reared and are only removed for mite checks and when I make up nucs. I dont want too much drone comb in newly made up nucs. Its a drain on resources. This darker frame weights almost 7 #. They are both thin, due to the fact these frames were kept tight together when they were new so they would get drawn out straight. If they had been slightly seperated, they would be fatter. I havent sold honey before and have no idea what to charge. Treatment free-no antibiotics. Ill have to do some research. But my stash for Christmas presents will come first.
