The resignation of former NSW Premier Barry OFarrell over a bottle of wine kind of sparked our memory on an article we published a couple of months ago titled The most expensive wine in Port Moresby. Thats because the wine of the moment Penfolds Grange made the cut-off which in up-market restaurants has a price tag between K1,500 to K3,000. Some commentators have praised OFarrell for doing the honorable thing and resigning over this Grange scandal while others have said he chickened out or escaped facing the tough decisions. Whatever way he will be seen, its interesting to see the situation from a PNG perspective. We cant recall when was the last time any of our politicians did the honourable thing and resigned or maybe we have a lot of fighters in parliament who are prepared to face the tough decisions?
