The results of the Chugcore Readers Choice Poll are in, and we are incredibly proud to say that our brothers in Traitors have been voted Band of the Year 2014. These guys have done an AMAZING things in such a short amount of time, having formed in only late 2013, they took 2014 by force and quickly became one of the most known bands in this scene. These guys are paving the way for heavy music today and are an unstoppable wrecking force of brutality. Their Self-Titled EP set the new standards for what is heavy and have without a doubt been an influence on many upcoming down-tempo and beatdown deathcore bands today. Coming in 2nd place for the Band of the Year award are our good Canadian buddies in Falsifier who released their impressive music video for the track 86 in November, won many people over with their heaviness and catchy grooves. Impressively taking 2nd place for a relatively unknown band before last year, beating out many more well known bands in the scene. Taking 3rd place are Hull, England heavyweights, BLACK TONGUE who need no introduction to you all, releasing one of the heaviest new EPs this year, along with a crushing music video for their single Coma, Black Tongue are undoubtedly another of the most influential bands in this scene as well. Thank you all for voting and you can see the results of the rest of the awards in the pictures on this post. Once again congratulations to all of the bands who took 1st place in their categories, Villains, Extortionist, Dealey Plaza, Kublai Khan, Barrier, Acrania, Feign, Desolated, Immoralist, Knocked Loose, Widow, INGESTED, REX, Traitors, Black Tongue, and Falsifier, and congratulations to any band that placed, because if you see your name up here along with other bands you consider yourself a fan of, you should be proud to have such great fans, and are definitely doing something right!
