The retrospect: Long time ago,schooling in a dusty catholic mission schl(the best there is in eastern),when nearly doing my kcpe,there arose books called farewells,there was a section for dedicating a song and the best actor et cetera.The schl was for both gender and with dayscholars and boarders.Many of my classmates came from Nrb,the big city as i thought and they wore shoes.Wearing shoes as a dayscholar was a big shame,how could you? Thus i spent the 7 years of schooling barefoot,i know the pain of loosing a nail or a thorn inthe foot.My toes spread here and there due to high temps there and ofcourse the foot_ freedom(no shoes).So back to farewells,the boys and girls knew the iron lass,lattifah,roberts julia and a host of other actors.We never owned a tv set then,so i thot acting was the games which i played with my then primitive bt beloved cousins,mutali,Aluu,msunge and Njuguna during the holidays.One mourine evans,who hailed from Tz,my best friend then,gave me her book,i expected that. For one wk,i mused over what to write in both sections in vain.I was ashamed if i wrote mzee ojwang,i would mess myself,so i asked my trendy cousin,John.I got answers and i wrote,Van persie as my best player and Laura as my best actor.I became a celeb there and there.How could davy ever know Laura, a jamaican? How? Those were my primary schl days.Now everything has changed,saved,civilized,a democrat,ill grown beards etc.when i watch my footsteps in this sand of life,i thank God,it was by His grace.From there,let us walk,let us dance the Godly tunes and psalms,the end shall be well.Then as i sip this drink here, if you see Erico Otieno inthe streets of Nairobi and James sigar inthe waters of the coast,greet them for me,my best highschool friends,Eastleigh High.
