The rise of Islamic Economic power globally. I did a research on why Islamic banking/economics hasnt taken of in the Gambia for over 20 years of existence. I interviewed many influential Gambians, however, the result are multi-faceted, people want comfort first instead of how such comforts are achieved, ie, faith, moral and religious ethical issues are secondary to vast majority of the Gambian Muslim, who does not think of his riba-interest consumption as a significant element of their faith. However, globally, Islamic economics is gaining grounds, whilst the only Islamic bank in the Gambia is not growing, why? Ask yourself.
