The rupee recovered further ground against dollar and euro on the currency market on Tuesday, dealers said. The dollar is under pressure due to selling by exporters and other investors, experts said. INTERBANK MARKET RATES: The rupee picked up more Rs 1.45 in relation to the dollar for buying at Rs 99.95 and it also rose by Rs 1.50 for selling at Rs 100.00, they said. OPEN MARKET RATES: The rupee gained Rs 1.50 versus the dollar for buying at Rs 99.70 and it also rose by Rs 1.55 for selling at Rs 99.90, the said. The rupee followed the same trend in terms of the euro, rising Rs 1.85 for buying and selling at Rs 137.00 and Rs 137.25 respectively, they said. In the second Asian trade, the yen remained trapped in narrow ranges in trade after the Bank of Japan stood pat and gave no indication that further easing steps were in the cards yet. The US currency was trading against the Indian rupee at Rs 60.85, the dollar was at 3.2800 in terms of the Malaysian ringgit and the greenback was at 6.1366 versus the Chinese yuan. Interbank buy/sell rates for the taka against the dollar on Tuesday: 77.73-77.74 (77.73-77.73). Call Money Rates: 06.75-08.25 percent (previous 05.25-08.25 percent).
