The scripture to consider is the one found at 1 Corinthians 7: 39 A wife is bound as long as her husband is alive.+ But if her husband should fall asleep in death, she is free to be married to whomever she wants, only in the Lord.+ > in this instance; the management of peace in serving God was the topic -- as the next verse points us into that sense of reasoning > 40 But in my opinion, she is happier if she remains as she is; and I certainly think I also have God’s spirit. ... The question is asked here is it a matter of conscience ? __Truly everything is a matter of conscience -- when we baptize, we do so to request a clean conscience (1 Peter 3: 21) to serve GOD Jehovah. There is also the matter of freedom that when we know all things are lawful but not all things are advantageous (1 Cor 10:23); thus when someone does date outside the Lord they might suffer indifference later and that might lead to spiritual hardships. Thus, it is not a sin that requires disfellowshipping; but does require a scriptural reprove on the things that are of deep concern for the well-being of our loved ones in the congregation. The Hebrews likewise; were required to marry only in their nation. The need to study the faith is required in the example of Israel as they had to become circumcised ...
