The seal of God: 1. In pre Israel and old covenant times, a seal represented closure, ownership, a sign, or authority. The sabbath could rightly be the old covenant seal: Ezekiel 20:12 Also I gave Israel my Sabbaths as a sign between us, so they would know that I the Lord made them holy. Exodus 31:16 The Israelites are to observe the Sabbath, celebrating it for the generations to come as a lasting covenant. 2. In new covenant times it also denotes ownership, and authority. But the it has an additional caveat; the issue of evidence: 1 Corinthians 9:2 Even though I may not be an apostle to others, surely I am to you! For you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord. As well as ownership: 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. Ephesians 1:13-14 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory. So it seems fairly obvious what the seal of God is in new Covenant times. It is those who walk with the spirit. And when the times of trouble come, it is those with the Spirit (the blood on the door post of their heart) that the death angel will pass over. Revelation 7:3 “Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God.” And so who has the mark? Anyone without the Blood on the door post, anyone without the Spirit: Revelation 9:4 They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any plant or tree, but only those people who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads. The mark or seal of the beast should logically be the opposite of all the scriptures state about the seal of God. Those without the gospel of Christ, without His Spirit. Those who partake or agree with the beast powers false Christ, the gospel of Ishmael in place of Isaac. The mark of the flesh.
