The second July birthday boy: John R. Gill- 85 years young! July 12th, I picked up Dad and we went to IHOP for lunch. He had a chocolate milkshake and Tiramisu pancakes. Dad said the milkshake was too sweet but he kept reaching for it! Got him a glass of water. But of course, he still drank most of the shake! He really enjoyed the pancakes too. When I returned him to Life Care, a beautiful bouquet of flowers had arrived from my sister, Dee Trousdell! Later we went back to the nursing home to visit him again with a tray of mini lemon and cocoa cupcakes to pass out to the staff. By the time we found him- playing Yahtzee with a group of ladies, a lot of cupcakes had already been passed out! We all sang Happy Birthday to him. We went with Dad around the facility passing out more cupcakes so he received lots of birthday wishes! (Hope he ate all his veggies and protein at dinner last night!)
