The second hindrance to faith is A LACK OF UNDERSTANDING OF OUR PLACE IN CHRIST AND OF CHRISTS PLACE IN OUR LIVES. As a pastor, I suggest to our congregation to do some definite study and go through the New Testament, particularly the Epistles which were written to them, and write down entire phrases that tell them who they are IN CHRIST and what they have IN CHRIST. Why? Because what we write down, we seem to remember a whole lot better. You will find expressions (or words that infer these expressions) in the Epistles such as, IN CHRIST, IN WHOM, IN HIM. Expressions such as these occur 134 times in the New Testament. For example, 1 John 4:4, ... Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world. Or, Colossians 1:13, Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the Kingdom of His dear Son. WHO, in this Scripture, refers to God, the Father. If you will go through the New Testament and confess, THIS IS WHO I AM. THIS IS WHAT I HAVE, then you will personally find out that life will be completely different for you in a very positive way. If you dont have an understanding of what you have IN CHRIST and who CHRIST IS in your personal life, then your faith will be severely hindered.
