The sheriff did not say much about Obamas plan, other than saying reform must be a priority. I am not sure what the news reports in California, but Obama has been urging Congress to take action (and it IS up to Congress to enact reform) for his whole two terms. This message ought to be directed at Congress, particularly the GOP, who has stonewalled, ignored, and otherwise refused to act on immigration reform. The sheriffs message is to get a move on, which is what Obama is attempting to do. The GOP response has simply been, do that and we will shut government down. Not let us give you something, but shut government down. Therein lies the problem. Americas citizens simply listen to the corporate controlled (thus right leaning) media misstating the situation. Obama is doing nothing different than his predecessors; it is also impossible to identify those in the country illiegally, otherwise they would be deported (by Obama, who has deported more than immediate predecessors combined).
