The sign on the wagon says, Do Not Touch: It is old and fragile - TopicsExpress

The sign on the wagon says, Do Not Touch: It is old and fragile Someone has taken steps to preserve this old wagon. No doubt it has traveled over rough miles of history and carried many people of long ago to their destinations. Most of the wagons built when this one was has long ago vanished from this new time. So has the people who benefited from those rides. Those lives were lived and those miles were traveled. In a sense our Scripture verse below can have an application for that past era. Behold all things have become new. Of course, the Scripture is talking about a much greater issue and that time is yet future. When I was a teen another teen from Oglethorpe purchased an old Model A Ford from an old Black man who repaired shoes and shined shoes. I knew him because he took the Sunday paper from me and I called on him often. I was in his home nearly every Sunday morning. I saw that old Model-A parked in his yard--it hadnt run in years. It was caked with dust and dirt. No one wanted it. That is, except that teen age girl. Her Dad hauled that old car to his place and had it fixed up and soon the teen was scooting through town in a freshly painted, tuned up Model-A. She had a time with it. She redeemed that old car whose time had already come to be discarded. She gave it new life and it lasted for a Summer or so. But, alas, the old car conked out again and now, I suppose it is either in a junk yard or crushed. Old things have passed away... Back to this old wagon. Someone has restored this old piece of history and placed it on display to remind us that an era has passed. That old wagon represented transportation of its kind in its time. But times have changed. These times we are living in are changing, too. Like the old Model-A and the old wagon we will soon exit the stage and a whole new team will gradually take our places and there will be new machines, new wagons, new challenges. This transition will keep on happening until Jesus comes to call out His Church. Not the Baptist, or the Methodist or the Presbyterian or dozens of others...but The Church. A group from all the ages since His death and resurrection until the moment He comes for us. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye...we shall be caught up together to meet Him in the air. Are you ready? Now is the accepted time to get ready. It is appointed unto man (and woman) once to die and then....the judgement. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. I Thessalonians 4:17 If you are not ready...now is the time to get ready. Times are changing, but Gods Word does not change. Not one jot or tittle of His Word or law will pass until it is fulfilled. God does not play. He is right on time. Be ready for in a moment when you are not expecting Him to appear...He will be here.
