The smell of coffee makes me rise on this day Linda is up and roaming the house It sounds like she is rearranging the cupboards She is certainly not,what I call, quiet as a mouse But Im out on the porch, and it sure feels like rain Gray clouds cover every inch of the sky All the birds are trying to get a quick meal Before the bad weather makes them nest up and hide Now Linda is still banging pots in the kitchen The sound is not muffled by windows alone Shes fixing breakfast for all of the kids They have already , put in their order by phone So the peace of this morning will soon be disturbed By the noise made by offspring and all of their broods Now I am not complaining, I cant wait to see them The laughter of the family can sure lift your mood
