The so-called "easy to install" rub rail (a bumper strip around - TopicsExpress

The so-called "easy to install" rub rail (a bumper strip around the edge of the boat) was a royal pain to do! Possibly because we got the narrower one, but each screw had to have us wiggle the rubber to get the head of the screw down inside the groove, but we got a pretty good system going and got the base installed all the way around. Then we discovered that the rope-like part that supposedly "slips" into the groove actually has to be pushed in by one person while the other spreads the space open, then use a rubber mallet to get it all the way in. We could only manage to get half of the boat done before the cramps in our hands, necks, and shoulders won out. The joys of remodeling boats!
