The song, Dream from The Mountaintop was composed for, and served as the opening song of the 20th-Anniversary Martin Luther King Community Breakfast, which was hosted locally by Guardian Angels Catholic Church on January 18, 2010. “Dream from The Mountaintop” was the theme of the event, and served as the anthem’s inspiration which honors Dr. King’s legacy. One hope was that the piece could become a new anthem for a new generation, specifically kids who were born after the height of the civil rights movement. Of all the great memories surrounding this event, my favorite memories include working with Roger Stratton to refine the raw orchestration, and then to have our music ministers including vocalists and instrumentalists join musicians from other local churches for the debut.
