The storms are gone, the cool air is moving in, and it is going to be a very pleasant weekend, starting off with the coldest air so far this season. We will be dropping into the upper 40s to low 50s Saturday morning - even here in the urban heat island - and then enjoy a cobalt-blue-sky day with highs only in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees. What a great Saturday to be at the fair! It was touch and go here in the holler this evening as those damaging winds blew through splitting a few trees in half and littering Combine with branches and debris while knocking out the power. But we did get a little over an inch of rain. As someone said yesterday after reading the outlook for Thursday, its a shame we have to blow down trees and power lines and rip the roof off buildings just to get rain here in north Texas!
