The story commonly referred to as “The Fall” is a story of the coming of spiritual ignorance into the world. The backdrop of this story is the reality of oneness. At the outset we are told there is a great void. Not a “void” in the negative sense of the word. The void was not empty. The void was not lacking. In fact, the void was full of the one reality – the essence of God. What had not yet happened was for that essence to manifest itself in form or substance. But that changed. An external world of form and substance manifested as trees, mountains, lakes, animals, plants, planets, and stars. It was declared as good. Next, the essence of God materialized as a human body and mind. God was cast in the mould of human personhood. Enter Adam and Eve. At that moment human consciousness is manifested and added to the equation. This was also declared as good. It was perfect. It was paradise. All was well. There was nothing lacking in this reality. There was no disharmony, no division, no separation… all was whole, seamless and one. That reality still exists right now. Nothing changed. Every day you wake up in paradise but you do not recognize it. - Jim Palmer, Notes from (Over) the Edge Niw available on Amazon -> tinyurl/mlwt534
