The story of our break in last night unfolds and I feel nauseous just thinking about it. According to newspapers last week crime in our area came down... well not according to most people that contacted me this morning. The bag found in our property this morning belongs to a lady here on holiday...they are renting a place two houses from us. They were having a braai late last night and heard something in the house...they went to investigate and saw the culprits stealing their phones, bags and laptps...the only lady was pushed against the wall by one of the guys before they ran away..the police was called but they decided to leave after speaking to the holiday makers and come back in the morning for statements as they said the people were drinking and having a braai....I cant help but wonder ....what if the police decided to drive around in the area..or warned neighbours or stayed around to ask questions... they left and we were robbed a littl while after that...I suppose with crime going down according to some people its not necessary to scan the areas any more after suspisious activities???? Scary to think we were all fast asleep and they walked through our place taking whatever they wanted....
