The strengths you possess both mental as well as physical are unbelievable. The mind is where they are stored. Your ability to tap into your subconscious power is the secret. When you are competing, working out, trying to take your self to the next level or just want to win, or achieve your goal, the mental focus of your subconscious and body harmony is what can get you there. Your conscious mind wants it and you say to yourself Im doing this but it also is the part of the brain that harbors your doubts. It is these doubts that negate your ability to overcome your obstacle. Having strong desires but also having strong doubts means your desire will not become a reality. It is your subconscious mind that house the triggers that can give you the strength to make it happen. I relate in my book Face Fear Create Courage how someone in an emotional hypnotic state can get stabbed, shot, burned or lose a limb and still continue. A parent or anyone can overcome odds that would stop them in their tracks under normal conditions but the emotion and the true heartfelt desire to save a child, loved one or even to save themselves can give them super human strengths. The fact that there is no doubt that you will survive and overcome the challenge in front of you is what makes it possible. Although this may sound silly, when I would tire on a run, I would visualize and convince myself that my house was burning down and I had to get there to save my son. This focus on this visual mindset would make me overcome any pain or thoughts of quitting, slowing down or giving up. In fact I would feel a surge of strength come over me from the adrenaline and chemicals your body stores. Work on and practice the ability to use these and not let this doubt interfere with their release and your performance. Doubt will destroy any chance you have to accomplish what you are trying to do. Visualize and emotionally feel that you need to lift that weight or pull your body up for the sake of something that is of greater importance and purpose to you than just trying to outdo yourself or win a competitive event. Tell yourself that you can not and will not fail. You will marvel at the capabilities that are at your disposal. Face Your Fears and Create the Courage to overcome your doubts. It will take you to where you want to be and to the thrill of victory.
