The study of P, sychology and Human Behavior is about studying about the behavior disorders, abnormal behavior addiction, split-brain personality disorders, Alzheimer’s disease, Autism, and Phobias (McLeod, 2008). The human behavior depends mostly of how a family reacts to things, and how their children will grow up in their future. Children learn their behavior mostly by their parents in the way their brought up. This is mainly what Psychology and Human Behavior is about, it mostly studying of the human mind, and studying of the Human Behavior. Psychologist studies the human mind, and also the Human Behavior of all kind. Psychology is the study of human mental and behavioral processes; this field is also applicable in many aspects of life. (Oksana, 2012) Wilhelm Wundt opened the very first Institute for Experimental Psychology at the University of Leipzig in Germany in 1879. Wilhelm Wundt is known as the father of psychology. He separated psychology from philosophy by analyzing the workings of the mind in a more structured on three areas of mental functioning; thoughts, images, and feelings. (McLeod, 2008) Much of Psychology, also known as behaviorism, is a theory of learning based up on the idea that all behaviors are acquired through conditioning. Today behavior techniques are still used in therapeutic settings to help clients learn new skills and behaviors. (Cherry, 2013) The requirement to become a school Psychologist is to get a 2 year Associates degree in Psychology, 2 year Bachelor’s degree, complete graduate studies of a Master’s degree, complete an internship, Residency or Supervised Practicum, become licensed. Earn certifications; meet continuing Education Requirements, which could take up to 8 full years to complete. The growth that I can become later in life is to become a professor at a University, a Psychologist working for the government, also in the industry field. Psychologist has a field where there is not an opening for their type of work. I myself tend to keep on going to school to keep educated in my field, because in today’s world there always changing things in the psychology world everywhere. A psychologist can move farther up in his field as far as he or she wants to, because there’s always needs for help in this field, people need help in life all over the world. These are the pay scales of being a Psychologist of different fields: Psychology teachers, postsecondary are $70,000.00. The Psychologist, all other is $83,000.00. Clinical, counseling, and school Psychologists is $78,000.00. Industrial- Organization Psychologists are $93,000.00. A Psychologist that has a Doctor’s degree in the study of Science can make up to $183,000.00 a year. The main reason that I want to become a school Psychologist, is to help out the children. To help them to understand what today schooling is about, and to be able to help them be able to cope with everything that is going on at school or at their home. I also want to help children understand that their not alone, that I am there always to help them anyway I can. To be successful at being a psychologist is to be open- minded, know about the human mind, and be adaptable in their field. A psychologist also has to use a lot of logic to piece together a lot of information about putting things together to solve the problems of the human behavior. A great psychologist also needs to uncover the deepest, darkest, thoughts and fears of their clients. Psychologist tends to have a set of personality traits in common that enable them to work most effectively with patients, and help them solve their emotional or mental problems (Cherry, 2013).
