The sugar land is subjected to land reform the more the province of Negros becomes poorer. The sugar industry has a great different with the rice, coconut, etc. in production management, it requires comprehensive management. One of the examples that I am going to cite was some of the sugar land in Escalante, Negros Occidental, a portion of that area I noted (about three years ago I was there) that was awarded to the beneficiary of land reform, and what happened it was abandoned no crop, some were rented by the capitalist Hacienderos. It is easy to say land reform which is nice to be heard by the masses, but the effect I wish is more fatal. You see supervising individual small farmer particular on comprehensive farming like sugar, is too complicated than supervising a few big Hacienderos particular in the application of correct farming management. I am not an Haciendero Isa lang po akong hamak na retired employee, but in my younger age I was once a sugar farm Manager in the province of Negros Occidental and I learned the nature and, but this is my observation for the Philippines to be great again in term of sugar industry that sugar farm is better managed by big farmer.
