No wonder savings behaviour in Ghana cedis is not encouraged and many people dollarize the Cedi to preserve its value. This has adverse ramifications on the value of the Ghana cedis because it is sliding in demand. Besides, we are claiming that inflation rate is only 15.9% but the price of many things have virtually doubled. For example, last year moving from Korle Bu to Tema Station was 60 pesewas if one boarded trosky and now it is 1 cedi 10 pesewas. We should stop this hypocrisy because of the prospect of winning elections and tackle the fundamental issues of corruption, overborrowing and overspending.
