The table I built for my father has given me a new love of making - TopicsExpress

The table I built for my father has given me a new love of making furniture. Its a creative outlet, helps me deal with grief, and something Sara and I need. This time, I built a few outdoor couches. For anyone curious, they are redwood with a coat of minwax dark walnut and several layers of poly. For each bench, you need 9 2x4s (6 each) and 2 4x4s (one 8 feet, one 10 feet). You also need 2.5 inch screws and 6 inch screws. We bought cushions from IKEA. The bottom ones were $25 each, the top were $15. Due to our tree stump preventing legs, I added a floating side table. This is a precut piece of round wood from Home Depot. Two layers of minwax dark walnut. Underneath, theres a T-shaped 2x4 (two pieces put together) screwed directly int the tree. The table cant hold the weight of a person, but it can hold food and drinks nicely. Please ignore the background, our hedges havent grown in yet. And tree, sorry for injuring you while attaching your dead family to your face.
