The textile recycling is a service offered by a third party. Our goal is, and has always been, to keep as much as possible out of our regular refuse containers. We pay a huge amount per ton to dump our trucks of refuse and any weight that can go elsewhere is always encouraged. This is precisely why recycling or donating everything possible is so important. Not only is the textile program offered at no cost, the third party pays us a small amount per pound for all the textiles they collect. Residents ARE STILL ENCOURAGED to donate useable items to local charities that collect clothing and other similar household goods. In addition to helping the charity, many are 501(c)3 entities and the donor may be eligible for a tax deduction. If you have textiles that are not sellable, please use this new service to reduce our costs and also keep the unusable items out of the landfill. Thank you.
