The thing with being Christian is that we are forced to approach - TopicsExpress

The thing with being Christian is that we are forced to approach our faith in two ways, either as a religion with a set of rules, doctrines and theology, from an institutional perspective. Whereas Faith without religion and doctrine is about expressing ourselves and our spirituality without having to justify this to any institution or religion. We are fluid, free to think and explore, love and share and also make mistakes and learn from them. Being Christian in a Church or a set of rules, limits our spirituality whereas faith beyond rules and doctrines helps us become better human beings in relationship to others around us. And it also helps us deal with our own prejudices and insecurities. (this was something that just came to mind as I thought about what my Christian faith and Church tradition has taught me over the years.) Peace!
