The tongue is a fire, the very world of iniquity; the tongue is set among our members as that which defiles the entire body, and sets on fire the course of our life, and is set on fire by hell.James 3:6. We tent to tolerate a bit of fire in our speech, thinking it can do no harm. But fire spreads guickly often before we realize it. Fiery words often destroys relationships that, evn when restored, are never again as strong. We should all wear a sign that say, CAUTION: LIFE IS A COMBUSTIBLE COMMODITY. PLEASE DOUSE YOUR TONGUE! The seriousness of the tongues destructive potential is revealed in the truth that it is set on fire by hell. It is the very world of inquity, literally an entire network of sin. We have an organized crime syndicate right in our mouth. Our tongues have the capacity to corrupt our entire being. Nothing is exempt from the damage our tongues can cause.
