The top 1% are doing just fine and therefore dont need government (except for their tax loopholes that make them even richer). So, they are villainizing our government and trying to convince the middle class and poor we need to stop government spending. They complain about people on social welfare programs all while paying workers salary wages and trying to take away your healthcare and rights as a human being - starving us financially and physically while keeping us sick. It really is sad that so many Americans are buying into their deceptive rhetoric. The Republican party is trying their damnedest to stack the deck against us (all the way to the US Supreme Court) and to turn this country into a 3rd world country for the majority of us while they suffer not (GOP Utopia / Middle Class Misery). They have no shame in lying, cheating and stealing (gerrymandering and suppressing) the votes to stay in power. Time for people to #WakeUp. YES. We need to eliminate corporate welfare. NO. We dont need to eliminate social programs for people who need it. FACT: Corporate Welfare spending is 2x that of Social Welfare spending. About $92 billion is spent on corporate subsidies. About $59 billion is spent on traditional social welfare programs. (So, the government spent 50% more on corporate welfare than it did on social welfare.) We can greatly reduce the number of people on social programs by making corporations start pulling their weight and paying their share - including paying a living wage and their share of taxes while stopping the outsourcing of jobs and offshore bank accounts that allow them to skip out on paying taxes (deadbeat corporations who do NOT love this country - rather love taking advantage of this country). Dont let the 1% try to convince you that our government is this bad and evil thing whose programs that benefit the needs of struggling Americans need to be taken away - yet, we need to keep in place corporate tax loopholes, etc that benefit corporations. Our government is of the people, by the people and for the people. It is NOT of, by and for the corporations - after all - CORPORATIONS ARE NOT PEOPLE. What it comes down to in the end? Corporations (1%) VS Government. What better way to cripple our government to stop it from benefiting who it was intended to help? Place bought off and corrupted officials inside Congress to do the dirty work with dirty money. We all need to #GetOutAndVote on November 4, 2014.
