The town of Taxco in the State of Guerrero, Mexico is a beautiful picturesque spanish-mexican village settled on the slopes of the hill called Atachi in the Sierra Madre del Sur. Taxco was founded 1529 by the spanish captain Rodrigo de Castañeda who conquered this región of Mexico inhabited by tlahuica indians. Today Taxco is a very turistic place famous for being the silversmithing world capital, here you can find at least 300 silversmith shops with beautiful silver designs many of these designs reminding the precolumbian silver masterpieces. Whem you take a guided tour you will always be taken to the silver shops where you can find beautiful good quality pieces althouhg they are expensive but there is an option to find cheaper silver pieces and the option is to go to the market located in callejón de la Florida 13 in the city of Taxco de Alarcón and there you will find a wide variety of silversmith handycrafs in different prizes expensive or not expensive and even you can buy silver in bulk.1
