The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure. Thomas Jefferson Is it time? We are ruled by a junta that elections have no effect over. Are we to relinquish liberty because of a citizenry who either doesnt care, doesnt understand, or are receiving so much free stuff from the government that they will help keep the tyrants in office? Stupidity is the new revelation and the politicians run to the microphone to explain to the useful idiots why they are taking our God given rights away; and the people are buying their load of manure. What are we, who love freedom, to do? I am an anarchist at heart. Not in the sense that masked marauders should go around destroying public and private property. But an anarchist in the sense that what they do in Washington and in the state house can not effect me except where my actions directly affect others. Glenn Beck (not a fan) is fond of saying that we cannot become confrontational with the government because then they will shut the country down using martial law. His answer is to elect good people. How is that going? I grant you an armed conflict with the authorities will probably not weather well, but what is the answer? We have a citizenry who have no relationship with the Constitution, who vote out of white guilt, who have no idea what freedom is. We have a citizenry who perform the most important task a person can do in a free nation (vote) on the basis of false empathy and 30 second sound bites. The Founders were expecting to have to go to war again in decades, because they knew that human nature is fickle. Something has to be done...soon. What?
