The trick to healthy weight loss is to maintain a calorie deficit without under-eating. Check out the calculation that I use for weight loss: Your current weight in lbs X 11 + 400= maintenance calories (if you simply want to maintain your weight) If your goal is to lose weight, take your maintenance calories - 300= your calorie target. Please keep in mind that I am exercising with moderate intensity 5-6 days per week. If you are not exercising or exercising with low intensity, you will need to deduct 500 calories from your maintenance calorie total. Do I count my calories everyday? Of course not! Keep a journal or track your calories using the My Fitness Pal app for a few days to determine what adjustments need to be made to your current diet. Then, use your journal or the app to track your adjusted calories for a few more days until you feel comfortable with just using your brain to keep track. ;)
