The twisted gospel is no different from the marketing techniques used by credit card companies. The credit card companies entice you with a nice low introductory rate. But After a few months, the rates start going up. And before long, youre working hard just to keep up with the payments. Pretty soon, you forget about the few months you enjoy with a little extra credit, now youre just working to pay bills. That is exactly the message preached today. It all starts with telling people to come as you are, God Loves you no matter what. But once youre in, suddenly you have to pay your tithes, read your bible everyday, pray everyday, go to church every week, share your faith with everyone you know, stop sinning, stop watching movies, stop listening to music that isnt Christian, dont wear black clothes dont drink, give up your non-christian friends. Its no longer about a relationship based on Gods Love and Acceptance, its about responsibilities and duty! Pretty soon youre so busy trying to live up to these new standards, to be a real Christian, that you forget that Jesus already made you a Real Christian. You live the rest of your life trapped striving for something you already have and pretty soon, the joy of those first moments with Christ, fades away and all thats left is a life of fake loveless religion. Outside of religion its called a bait and switch, in Christianity we call it discipleship.
