The very wealthy are able to easily avoid the Death Tax by hiring experts who know the tricks of the trade. The folks truly harmed by the Death Tax are the family farms, ranches and businesses. While they may have land and equipment, they rarely have the cash on hand needed to pay the taxman. So, what do they have to do? Sell the land and equipment, making it difficult to continue operating, if not impossible. This harms job creation and the economy, all for a tax that sends very little to the Treasury. Its just not worth the harm it does - its time to bury the Death Tax once and for all.
