The way I understand her is that logically he is not guilty but - TopicsExpress

The way I understand her is that logically he is not guilty but emotionally she would have convicted him anyway if that had been possible. It is an interesting report of the tension between reason and emotion. When I sat on a jury it was certainly true that emotion ruled the day for most people and it required a stroll through the reasoning of the case to come approach a decision. In the end it was one person for whom reason was a complete stranger, that that jury was deadlocked. It seems to me that it is emotion inadequately tempered by reason that is getting us into trouble at all points.
