The way we parent our children has a profound effect on how they develop and go on to contribute to society. Put differently, the specific parenting strategies we use with our children have a direct and significant impact on our children’s life chances and opportunities. Ive found that,sadly, there still seems to be a stigma to attending parenting courses. Id love to see that stigma dissolve, so that parents feel free to attend and enjoy groups such as P.E.T., in order to learn effective relationship skills - and meet other amazing parents. According to this article, parents are seeking evidence for their parenting choices. P.E.T. has a strong body of evidence for its efficacy in many areas - emotional intelligence, self-regulation (self control), empathy development etc.
