The week has gone by too fast. I am never as complete as when Sarah and I have all of the kids at the same time. The times of me being able to make them laugh by throwing myself down an air slide or them wanting to curl up on the couch just to be close will be gone soon. The oldest are 13 & 11, and far away. The youngests, we only get them during school and have to make sure their being raised as little men and that their regular everyday stuff gets handled because it wont up at their fathers. Gabe and Jades Grandfather hasnt asked about them or called or visited since before Thanksgiving. He doesnt even call on their birthdays. Ive tried to explain to him that he now has 6 grandchildren including my nieces and he seems to be totally engulfed by his extended family and not the ones who will be there when he passes. I smile and put on a strong face, but I know what it is to be unwanted by a father and I wont let my children feel that. Go ahead and have fun on your cruises, and spend time with your brother and father -in laws while your grandchildren get older and more and more distant. You never even call to ask how they are. You have six, grow up and be a Grandfather and stop being so selfish and allowing yourself to be submerged and drowned in people that dont really matter. When your down and your health is failing itll be ME and Bas and our families there. You should act like we matter.
