The white hen was injured in the cross-fire of too many roosters - TopicsExpress

The white hen was injured in the cross-fire of too many roosters in the flock several weeks ago and has been kept in confinement while she heals because the others may pick on her in her weakened state. Sure enough, this was the case. I noticed, though, that day after day there was one older red hen that would stay back with her when all the others eagerly made their way to the outdoors. So 3 days ago it seemed like the time to see if she could survive reintegration to her flock by letting her out. Things are still somewhat tense with the group, so she keeps herself at a distance from them for now. But the old red hen stays by her side so she doesnt have to pass this test alone. So every day I pray for safety for all of these animals and for wisdom of how to best care for them, including following much advice from dear Susan Abelt at Leipers Fork Vet services. So grateful for the opportunity to live this life and learn so much on Fantastic Beiling Farm.
