The wind and the sun once looked down and saw a man walking along - TopicsExpress

The wind and the sun once looked down and saw a man walking along a path. The wind said to the sun, “I bet you that I can get that man to take off his jacket,” and she proceeded to blow upon the poor man. She blew and blew ever so strongly yet in response, the man held ever more tightly onto his jacket. “Move aside,” said the sun. “Let me show you how it’s done!” As she began to smile brightly upon the man, sending down friendly warm rays. In response, the man voluntary removed his jacket … The man in the above story represents a Jew and the jacket is our holy Torah. Historically, when the nations of the world acted toward us with violence and persecution, we held onto our holy Torah ever more dearly. However, when the nations of the world embraced us with warmth and acceptance, we voluntary abandoned our precious Torah and its ways of life. Remain loyal to who you truly are, to your people, to your Torah, to your loving Father in Heaven and to the eternal reward awaiting you. Regardless of the way in which we, as Jews, have been treated by the other nations, both methods are equally detrimental sharing the same underlying motivation, mainly to make us strip away our lifeblood, our eternity, what is special and unique about our people - our eternal covenant with our loving Father in Heaven. .
