The word advent means coming or arrival. It was established - TopicsExpress

The word advent means coming or arrival. It was established sometime in the 4th to 5th centuries as the time leading up to the celebration of Jesus birth. So right now, were kind of in an Advent-to-Advent or something. And some of you are actually finished decorating. Others of you are finished Christmas shopping. True story. A 10 mile run against the headwind and being hit in the face with leaves reminded me this morning that were constantly in training, strengthening, preparation for the ADVENT of something. A job. A baby. Home. Relationship. Friendship. Family. Being debt-free. Retirement. Moving. Serving. Acting on a dream. Following God. The interesting thing is that God usually links todays tasks to tomorrows opportunity. Advent is a time of getting ready, of preparing to see God work in the most unexpected places. Will you give up now or will you still be running the race and experience the tailwind? Bless somebody and share this devotional with someone who needs the hope of Advent this year. You wont regret it.
