The word liminality comes from the Latin word limen which means threshold. Liminality is a metaphysical state of being between two existential planes. In the tanka moment body, mind and spirit touch for a brief time. The tanka moment creates a gateway to a new understanding of the world. The tanka moment is non-intellectual, profoundly stirring and curiously soothing. Our hearts and minds are touched deeply. We encounter, viscerally, the shining truths and mysteries of life. These truths and mysteries resonate with our deepest and truest selves. These moments bring uncanny gifts of insight, wisdom, peace and comfort.
