The world list a great man but heaven gained an angel ..., David Joseph McCarthy David Joseph McCarthy was born on January 3rd, 1954 in Tacoma, WA to Thomas and Mary McCarthy in a family of 10. He graduated high school from Bellarmine Preparatory School, and showed a thirst for knowledge his entire life. He was a man full of unique and wonderful talents, ranging from being a human GPS, to knowing a knot for every situation, to being possibly the best at carnival type games. His mind could create poetry, books, songs, games, and the most highly anticipated box mazes the world has ever seen. (Ask his kids) His many occupations included freight transportation, camp counselor, city council, advertising, and sales. With each and every job he pledged to work the hardest of anyone and exceed expectations. David is remembered by many as the happiest and most compassionate man to grace our lives. He was a true servant of Christ and spread love to anyone and everyone. He would trade anything and everything for more time with his family, and he would do everything in his power to assist them in any way that he could. He created an incredibly large and close family that he spent the majority of his life looking over and caring for. Dave was a father figure, brother, son, leader, or friend to hundreds if not thousands. And boy, was he a talker. He made it a point to care about every person he met. Dave would light up a room with joy, fun, and love wherever he went. Every friend of David always was greeted with a hug. Along with Dave always came his larger than life smile. He was the biggest optimist most of us have ever known. His home was a sanctuary to many. All were welcome and all were loved. And shown a love that can only be explained as The Fathers love. His magic tricks would awe, excite, and engulf any audience. He was a jokester, eager to see any one smile or hear one laugh. Every memory of Dave is filled with laughter and smiles. He always said that You can measure your lifes worth by the positive impact you have on others and the quality time you spend with those you love. So, in the spirit of Dave, we invite ALL friends and family of David Joseph McCarthy to join us on Saturday, July 26th, at Mount Rainier Christian Center at 43801 244th Ave SE, Enumclaw, WA 98022 at 11:00am. Join us in celebrating the life of the magician, the singer, the rescuer, the jester, the competitor, the creator, the hugger, the optimist, the father, the brother, the son, the grandfather, the friend, and the true Servant of The Lord. Dave is survived by his 7 children, 8 grandchildren, and countless lives he touched along the way.
