The world lost one of its most unique and special people yesterday. Serge Hochar, LEGENDARY winemaker of Chateau Musar was without question one of the most generous and warm-hearted people Ive known. He touched so many lives and influenced and educated generations of wine professionals. It was always a pleasure to listen and talk with Serge because you always smiled and you always learned something (not necessarily about wine). A tremendous individual who I count myself lucky to have been friends with. Will never forget him deciding to teach me how he likes his wines decanted during the middle of service @BackstreetCafe on Valentines Day several years ago. He will be missed, but not forgotten.
